Cars we buy
We buy most types of vehicle — not just cars in perfect condition. Here's a guide to what we typically consider.
Types of vehicle we consider
Used cars in working order
Any make or model in roadworthy condition. Whether it's a family hatchback, a diesel estate or a smaller city car, we'll consider it.
High-mileage vehicles
High mileage alone doesn't rule out a sale. Overall condition and the vehicle's service history play a bigger role than mileage alone.
Cars with minor faults
Vehicles with warning lights, minor mechanical issues or cosmetic damage are considered. Please describe any faults accurately in the quote form.
Accident-damaged vehicles
Cars with structural or significant bodywork damage are assessed on a case-by-case basis. Provide as much detail as possible for a realistic quote.
Non-runners
If your vehicle won't start or isn't driveable, we may still be able to help. Let us know the situation and we'll advise.
Cars with finance
Outstanding finance doesn't necessarily prevent a sale. You'll need a settlement figure from your provider. Mention the finance when requesting a quote.
SORN or untaxed vehicles
Vehicles on SORN are considered. We'll arrange collection and handle the DVLA notification as part of the process.
Scrap & end-of-life vehicles
Vehicles that are no longer economical to repair can be assessed for scrap. We work with authorised treatment facilities.
Vehicles without V5C
The logbook is preferred but not always essential. Contact us to discuss your situation before submitting a quote.
Not sure if we can help?
If you're unsure whether we'd consider your vehicle, the easiest thing to do is request a quote anyway. Describe the vehicle's condition honestly, and we'll let you know whether we're able to make an offer. There's no obligation on either side.
Request a free quoteWhat affects the value?
The offer we make is based on several factors:
Vehicle condition
The overall mechanical and cosmetic condition of your vehicle is the most significant factor in the offer we make.
Mileage
Higher mileage generally reduces value, though it's considered alongside service history and condition.
Age and specification
Newer vehicles and better specifications typically attract stronger offers, though older and basic-spec cars are also considered.
Current trade values
Offers are based on current wholesale trade prices, which fluctuate with market demand.
Outstanding finance
If finance is owed, the settlement amount affects the net value of the transaction.
Documentation
A complete V5C, service history and MOT certificate can help support a stronger offer.
